2023 Toyota Camry – Powertrain Specs

For 2023, the Camry is available in eight unique trims – LE, XSE, SE, XLE, XSE V6, XLE V6, TRD V6, and SE Nightshade. These trims are further divided into 4dr front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants. The Hybrid version of this sedan has an FWD hybrid powertrain featuring five trims. The base trims LE and SE have a standard 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-Cylinder DOHC engine with eight-speed automatic transmission. This gas engine generates a horsepower of 203 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. On the other hand, the higher trims XLE, XSE, and TRD offer a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 301 hp and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. These engines come with Injection Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and three driving modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport).

Regarding transmission, it offers Direct Shift-8AT 8-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence and sequential shift mode. You can pick from two types of drivetrains – Dynamic Torque Control All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and Front-Wheel Drive (FWD). 2023 Camry’s LE and SE variants with the four-cylinder engine are the most efficient non-hybrid Camry models. Their EPA estimated economy ratings are 28 mpg for the city and 39 mpg on the highway. The other variants powered by the V-6 engine achieved ratings of 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
