How much power will the 2021 Toyota GR Supra have?

Toyota brought back the impressive and racing-inspired GR Supra for the 2020 model year, and it’s taking things to a new level for 2021. Toyota has recently released some of the specifications of the new Supra lineup to whet appetites ahead of the summer 2020 release. How much power will the 2021 Toyota GR Supra have? Let’s go over what we know so far about the powerful beating heart at the center of this nifty car. 

How do the automatic transmission and drive modes work in the GR Supra?

2021 Toyota GR Supra engine horsepower and torque 

The 2021 GR Supra will come in 2.0 and 3.0 models, with the 3.0 doling out the most power between the two and the 2.0 offering a more lightweight option at a lower price point. The 2021 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 will be equipped with a 3.0 inline-6 engine capable of producing 382 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft of torque. The GR Supra 2.0 offers a 2.0 inline-4 engine that makes 255 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. 

The 2.0 model will be able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in five seconds, while the GR Supra 3.0 can reach 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds! An eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters helps make for smooth transitions and a speedy ride, something enthusiasts have come to love from the Supra name.

Other notable features of the 2021 GR Supra 

The GR Supra 2.0 will stand on 18-inch cast aluminum wheels, while the 3.0 model offers 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. To provide even better handling and corner stability, the chassis on the 3.0 model has been retuned by adding lightweight aluminum braces that will connect the strut towers and radiator support. 

An eight-inch central display screen is now standard in the lineup, and a new package called Safety & Technology is available, which includes such available features as Navigation, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (Full Speed), Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more.
