Toyota Vehicle Warning Indicators

This is a quick overview of some of the more common dashboard warning lights that you may encounter in your vehicle. None of these indicators should not be ignored, so we at San Francisco Toyota are here to assist you.

Airbag

This is an indicator that shows if you have a fault in your airbag and seat belt components.

 

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)

Every car made for the United States market after 2007 is required to have TPMS. The indicator alerts you when a tire is low on air-pressure and that it may not be safe to operate. 

Vehicle Service

This is mean to notify you when it is time to book a service appointment. Your car's appointment will include an oil and filter change. Depending on your mileage, it may require other maintenance.

 

Oil Warning Light

This light is to indicate that your oil level is low or that the oiling system needs attention.

Low Fuel Light

This light indicates that you have the a very limited amount of fuel in your vehicle. Stop immediately for gasoline.

Brake System

This light is to indicate that your oil level is low or that the oiling system needs attention.

Slip Indicator

If you lose traction, the traction control feature will engage. This light will flash in the event that you trigger traction control.

Battery Light

While this may signal the need for a battery check, it could also mean that you are in need of replacing your alternator or another component of your charging system.
