Upon first glance, you might mistake the 2020 Toyota Highlander for a luxury SUV, and who could blame you! With this bold new design, the Highlander offers a new sense of sophistication and craftsmanship. The new Highlander is built on a new Toyota vehicle platform known as Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA-K), which allows for even more capability and comfort.

The sweeping lines of the Highlander aren’t just for show. This aerodynamic shape allows for greater efficiency as well as a reduction in wind noise for a more comfortable experience inside. The L, LE, and XLE trims feature a black front grille lined with silver trim. The Limited and Platinum models offer up a black grille with chrome trim as well as a chrome-plated lower rear fascia, premium projector headlamps, and 20-inch allow wheels, which are firsts on the Highlander. Additionally, the Platinum further distinguishes itself with a silver-painted front bumper and rear fascia.

Inside, the cabin is tailored to the comfort of the driver and passengers, and a maximum cargo capacity of 84.3 cubic feet is available behind the front-row seats.

Performance

Non-hybrid versions of the 2020 Toyota Highlander come equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of doling out 295 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque, ensuring a peppy and spirited ride every time. This also allows for a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds when equipped with the available towing package.

Those last two features are new for this model year.

Infotainment

An eight-inch touchscreen is offered on the L, LE, XLE, and Limited models, while that size gets bumped up to 12.3 inches on the top-tier Platinum trim.
