For the 2021 model year, the Toyota Corolla is getting a new style to the lineup: The Apex Edition. How does the new Toyota Corolla Apex Edition stand out from the rest? What makes it special? Let’s take a closer look at a 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex Edition vs 2021 Corolla base model comparison.

How far can you drive a Corolla on empty?

What is the Toyota Corolla Apex Edition?

First, we want to show you what this new special edition Corolla is in the first place. As you may know, the term apex refers to being at the top. The Great White Shark is the ocean’s apex predator. That kind of attitude imbues the 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex Edition, which is meant to exude an aggressive demeanor. There will be 6,000 Apex Edition models produced, and they will be based on the SE and XSE grades of the Corolla. Most will be equipped with the Dynamic Shift CVT (continuously variable transmission) that has simulated 10-speed Sequential Shiftmap steps, a Sport Mode, and paddle shifters for an even more fun and dynamic driving experience. For those who want more control, 120 of the Apex models will be equipped with the 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (6 iMT).

Aside from the drivetrain, most of the differences are in the design elements. It has a sporty look with bronze accents and a sport-tuned exhaust. The gloss black appearance on the 18-inch flow-formed cast aluminum wheels are specially developed to assist in brake cooling, and the suspension has been developed to decrease the vehicle roll angle while the overall agility is improved.
