2020 Prius hybrid system

As you can see, those are impressive fuel economy numbers! That’s because the 2020 Prius is run by an efficient hybrid powertrain made up of a 2ZR-FXE 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 96 horsepower, and an electric DC600V motor that produces 71 horsepower. When these two forces combine, it’s a net horsepower of 121 (or 90 kW). This system ensures a ride that won’t stall and will sip fuel like the precious resource it is.
