No matter which of these models and which available 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain you decide to go for, the 2021 Toyota 4Runner can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. The 4Runner offers an integrated towing receiver hitch and wiring harness with four- and seven-pin connectors. That gives you plenty of options when it comes to what you can tow behind you—perhaps your favorite fishing vessel on a trip to the lake, or maybe a trailer packed with items on moving day. 

It’s also worth noting that inside the 2021 4Runner, you can carry as much as 88.8 cubic feet of cargo behind the front row of the vehicle if you need to open it up to that much space. Otherwise, in 4Runner models equipped with three rows, you can fit nine cubic feet of cargo behind the third row. Behind the second row of seats, you’ll be able to fit 46.3 cubic feet of cargo there in models featuring seats with the sliding deck or 47.2 cubic feet behind the second row in models without the sliding deck.
